Frequently Asked Questions
The Safety Audit is a one-time review conducted by the FMCSA for new carriers within their first 12 months of operation. It ensures that you’re following federal safety regulations such as Hours of Service, vehicle maintenance, drug and alcohol testing, and driver qualification files.
New entrants are typically audited within the first 3–12 months of receiving their USDOT number. You’ll receive notice by email or mail from the FMCSA when your audit is scheduled.
You’ll need to provide key documents such as your driver files, proof of drug & alcohol program enrollment, Hours of Service logs, insurance, vehicle maintenance records, and company policies.
Failure to pass the Safety Audit can result in the revocation of your operating authority. We help ensure that doesn’t happen by preparing your documents and reviewing your compliance before the audit begins.
